Polaris Wireless has announced that it will deploy their products in sub-Saharan Africa for the first time

The software-based location solutions specialists revealed early this week that their Altus and OmniLocate surveillance suites will soon be launched in the region.

The products are the only such software-based solutions that enable accurate mass location, the company said, allowing for the simultaneous location of all subscribers in a particular area in real time or on a historical basis.

Manlio Allegra, Polaris Wireless CEO and co-founder, said, “As the first company to deploy a high-accuracy, software-based wireless location surveillance solution in a sub-Saharan country, we look forward to contributing to increased safety and security in the region.”

Allegra continued, “This newest deployment reaffirms our business focus and leadership, as we continue our work in building the highest level of location accuracy solutions combined with best-in-class applications for public safety and national security initiatives around the world.”

Polaris Wireless Location Signatures (WLS), which powers the OmniLocate platform can locate wireless devices within 40 metres for the majority of calls, the company said.
