VueTel has announced the official launch in the USA, aiming to provide specialised telecommunications services connecting the USA and Africa
The Italian telecommunication group has established VueTel USA, activating a data centre in New York with the intention to connect the US to Africa. The headquarters is located in Holmdel, New Jersey, in the renovated building that historically housed the Bell Labs' laboratories, while the technological infrastructures are located in New York.

VueTel focuses on providing telecommunications services to large companies and corporations in the US market, characterised by the presence of great players who often do not have a direct focus on Africa.
With the activation of the PoP of New York, and the openings in London, Paris, Marseilles, Milan, Palermo, VueTel considers itself a reference point for the international level, wholesale voice-data market focused on Africa. Among the African countries in which the group is present in are: Tunisia, where the company has established the local "VueTelSi", Egypt, Algeria, Libya, Benin, Togo, Niger, Mali, Ghana, Nigeria, Burkina Faso and Angola.
From 2000 to today, Africa has experienced a strong increase in both fixed and mobile connectivity. According to data from the Internet World States, the internet users of the continent have gone from about 4.5mn in 2010 to almost 350mn in 2017. The current penetration level is around 28 per cent, more than half of the rest of the world, but exponential growth is expected, which by 2020 will bring Africa to levels comparable to the world average.
