South Africa-based Datatec has announced its subsidiary Logicalis has gained ownership of Channel Islands-based provider of desktop and mail solutions, iConsult

The company, who has revenues of more than US$5bn and operates in more than 11 African countries, aims to strengthen iConsult’s IT services while it merges with Logicalis’ current Channel Islands businesses.

Jens Montanana, Datatec CEO, said the new deal is expected to transform Logicalis managed services business in the Channel Islands.

IT solutions and managed services provider, Logicalis, became a subsidiary of Datatec when the ICT company acquired the European subsidiaries of 2e2 at the start of this year.

“We can now deliver cloud-based hosted desktop and BYOD services to a larger customer base in the Channel Islands and increase Logicalis’ revenue annuity base,” Montanana said.

“With Logicalis’ current hosted services being based in Guernsey, the transaction means Logicalis is now better placed to provide cloud and hosted desktop services to the whole Channel Islands,” Montanana added.

Datatec has operations in Zambia, South Africa, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Angola, Namibia and Cameroon.
