Facebooks Mark Zuckerberg adamant to provide the continent great connectivity for people and businesses despite the Space Xs recent launch failure
"I'm deeply disappointed to hear that SpaceX's launch failure destroyed our satellite that will have provided connectivity to so many entrepreneurs and everyone else across the continent. We remain committed to our mission of connecting everyone, and we will keep working until everyone has the opportunities this satellite would have provided," Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page.
Zuckerberg recently met with local businesses and developers in a bid to understand how Facebook (FB, Tech30) could "better support tech development and entrepreneurship across Africa," the Facebook said in a statement.
The 31st August 2016 saw one of Facebook's satellites go up in smoke with the explosion of SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on launch. The failure to launch of the rocket was particularly detrimental as Mark Zuckerberg was in Kenya at the time, talking to entrepreneurs and business people about how Facebook will help connect them.
