South Africa-based ATIO has acquired the Avaya assets from business-solutions provider Business Connexion (BCX) and has partnered with BCX to provide Avaya solutions to its customer base

ATIO chief executive officer Chris van der Sande said, “After ATIO's cession of our interactive intelligence assets to Interactive Intelligence (ININ) earlier this year, we decided to investigate how the company could complement and grow our current offerings.

"When we became aware of the fact that BCX was looking at streamlining its technology offerings, we jumped at the opportunity to acquire its Avaya assets, thereby dramatically increasing ATIO's Avaya market share in Southern Africa.”

Avaya South Africa country manager Brett Butler added, "We see the acquisition and partnership by ATIO as a complementary fit that not only bolsters their position in the market, but also allows ATIO to accelerate its Avaya skills in line with its strategic decision to focus on the Avaya portfolio.”

As a result of this transaction, BCX employees focusing on Avaya technology will transition to ATIO to form part of ATIO's interactive division.

ATIO managing director Dawn Hollingworth was excited about the addition to the division, "Being able to increase our staff complement in such a manner means that we are able to provide increased service levels for all our clients, both ATIO's existing clients and BCX's."
