New C-band Platform on AMOS-5:MCPC Platform Opens Gateway to Africa for International and African Content

SatLink Communications Ltd, a leading teleport delivering your content to every corner of the world, recently announced it is augmenting its presence in Africa with a powerful MCPC (Multi Channel Per Carrier) platform on AMOS-5’s Pan African C-beam. The new MCPC will provide international and local African broadcasters with a robust contribution platform offering total continental coverage. SatLink’s ideal location in the Middle East, its added value broadcast services and Playout solutions and AMOS-5’s 17E high EIRP levels, make this platform a Gateway to Africa for European, Asian, and American broadcasters. SatLink’s team will discuss pre launch opportunities with broadcasters at the AfricaCom show in Cape Town, South Africa 10-11 November 2011.

From Day One of satellite operation, SatLink's platform will have a Tier 1 broadcast neighborhood including leading European, American and Asian channels. SatLink has already developed a ground reception network at Africa's leading media centers with antennas pointed at the satellite ready for downloading signals to cable head ends, Pay TV operators, IPTV providers and mobile head ends to bring an array of entertainment, news and sports to customers throughout Africa. In addition, the company is offering a full complement of cost effective and reliable playout services to clients utilizing the MCPC platform.

“Expanding operations in Africa with our new AMOS 5 C-band platform together with our strategic location and our global satellite and fiber network makes SatLink a true Gateway to Africa,” remarked David Hochner, CEO of SatLink.

“With our platform taking advantage of AMOS-5’s pan-African C-band reach, we will meet the needs of this growing market and enabling more leading broadcasters to reach the entire continent with a powerful and popular beam.”

In addition to the C-band MCPC platform, SatLink will be the prime provider of satellite engineering services including TT&C and IOT services for the AMOS-5.
