Castor Networks has signed a capacity expansion deal on SES NSS-7 satellite to help meet changing connectivity requirements throughout southern Africa
The Dutch provider of teleport, VSAT and broadcasting services will ensure timely delivery of voice and data across business networks of oil and gas and mining industries, ISPs and governments in countries including Angola, Mozambique and South Africa.
Norbert Hölzle, senior vice president of Europe, commercial for SES, explained, “NSS-7 is an ideal fit, as it is a high-powered satellite that offers comprehensive coverage over Southern Africa with cross connectivity into Europe and complements Castor Networks’ iDirect Ku-band coverage over Africa.”
“This latest contract broadens our partnership and reflects the escalating demand for connectivity throughout Africa,” he added.
NSS-7’s recently set-up South Africa Ku-band beam is located at 340 degrees east. As one of the largest providers of satellite communication solutions across Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Castor Networks provides a stream of mission and business critical communication services including iDirect, SCPC and Teleport services.
